Terms of Use
Effective date: April 13, 2026
Acceptance and eligibility
By downloading, installing, or using the Bodha mobile application or website at bodha.app (collectively, the “Services”), you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services. You confirm that you are legally able to enter a binding agreement or have the legally valid consent of a guardian.
Platform and app store terms
If you access the Services through the Apple App Store or Google Play, you also agree to the applicable platform terms. These Terms are between you and AMVRIT, not with Apple or Google. Apple and Google are not responsible for the Services or their content. You are responsible for any charges imposed by your carrier or device provider.
Apple's Standard EULA applies to the iOS app where these Terms do not specify otherwise. Apple has no obligation to furnish maintenance or support for the app and has no warranty obligations with respect to the app.
Subscriptions, payments, and refunds
Free tier
Bodha is free to download and use with the following limits: 3 AI insights per day, saves capped at 20 verses, and no streak grace period.
Bodha Premium
A paid subscription available at the following prices:
- Monthly: $4.99 per month
- Annual: $39.99 per year (includes a 7-day free trial)
- Lifetime: $99.99 one-time payment
Prices are shown in US dollars. Local currency equivalents may differ and are displayed at checkout. Prices may vary by region and are subject to change with reasonable notice.
Free trial
The 7-day free trial is available on the Annual plan for new subscribers only. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, you will be charged the full annual price. You may cancel during the trial period at no charge through your App Store or Google Play account settings.
Auto-renewal
Monthly and annual subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period — you retain access until then.
Cancellation
Cancel any time through your App Store (iOS: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions) or Google Play (Play Store → Subscriptions) account settings. Cancelling through the app itself does not cancel the underlying store subscription.
Refunds
Because purchases are processed by Apple or Google, refund requests must be directed to the platform where you made your purchase. We do not process refunds directly. Applicable consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction may entitle you to a refund regardless of platform policy — contact us at [email protected] if you need assistance.
Content and intellectual property
Gita content
The Bhagavad Gita is an ancient text in the public domain. Bodha's curated selection, editorial presentation, challenges, wisdom cards, reflection questions, context cards, and original writing are the intellectual property of AMVRIT and may not be reproduced, distributed, or commercialised without prior written permission.
AI-generated insights
Verse insights are generated by an AI system (Anthropic Claude) and reviewed by a practitioner before publication. They are intended as philosophical commentary and personal reflection aids — not as authoritative religious interpretation, scholarly translation, or guidance from a qualified spiritual teacher. Bodha makes no claim that any AI insight represents the definitive or only valid interpretation of a verse or school of Vedanta. Do not rely on AI insights as a substitute for study under a qualified teacher.
Shared content
When you share a verse image using the in-app share feature, the shared image includes a “bodha.app” watermark. You may share these images freely for personal, non-commercial purposes. Commercial use of Bodha-generated content requires written permission.
App software
The Bodha app software, design, branding, and interface are owned by or licensed to AMVRIT and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for personal purposes in accordance with these Terms.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app
- Use the Services for any commercial purpose without written permission from AMVRIT
- Attempt to access Bodha's servers or databases other than through normal app use
- Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or bulk-download content from Bodha
- Represent AI-generated insights as authoritative religious translations or scholarly commentary
- Upload malicious code or attempt to interfere with the Services
- Violate the rights of others, including privacy and intellectual property rights
Wellbeing and health disclaimer
Bodha provides spiritual, educational, and reflective content. It is not medical, psychiatric, therapeutic, legal, tax, or financial advice and is not a substitute for qualified professional care of any kind. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis or believe you may be in danger, contact local emergency services or a mental health helpline immediately.
Termination and suspension
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services, with or without notice where legally permitted, if we believe there is a breach of these Terms, a security risk, fraud concern, legal requirement, or operational necessity. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect.
Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, AMVRIT and its affiliates, officers, employees, and partners are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or loss of data, revenue, goodwill, or profits arising from or related to the Services. Where liability limits are restricted by local mandatory consumer law, those limits apply only to the extent legally allowed.
Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to AMVRIT for the Services in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) $10 USD.
Indemnity
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless AMVRIT from claims, liabilities, damages, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Services, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in India. If mandatory consumer protection laws of your jurisdiction apply and provide greater protection, those protections remain in effect and are not overridden by this clause.
Before initiating formal proceedings, please contact us at [email protected] so we can attempt to resolve the matter informally within 30 days.
Changes to the Services and Terms
We may modify the Services or these Terms to reflect legal, security, technical, or business updates. We will update the effective date above and provide in-app notice for material changes. Your continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
